The Colours of Book of Beasties

The colours used in Book of Beasties have all been chosen for a reason. Find out what that reason is...

Colour is important to Book of Beasties: The Mental Wellness Card Game. Each colour we’ve used has been carefully picked by our designers for its psychological qualities.

The Art Therapy Blog tells us that:

The blue of the Beasties represents such things as calmness, serenity, loyalty and focus.

Whereas the green of the Items bring harmony, tranquility, growth and health.

The Action cards’ cool purple colour embody spirituality, wisdom and respect.

Whilst the pinkish red of the comforts encourage warmth, comfort, gentleness and life, along with excitement and love.

The #Art #Therapy #Blog states: "In art therapy, colour is often associated with a person’s emotions. Colour may also influence a person’s mental or physical state.

"For example, studies have shown that some people looking at the colour red resulted in an increased heart rate, which then led to additional adrenaline being pumped into the blood stream."

This careful choice of colour is only a small part of the detail we’ve focus on to make Book of Beasties an all round #wellness tool, but an important one for the young people that use it.

Educational resource website, Classroom found that: "Children learn and retain information longer when colour is used in educational material and in the classroom.

"80 per cent of the brain receives information visually. Colour stimulates the visual sense and encourages the retention of information."
